How people perceive me has always been a big part of my life. Caring what people think of me, and now as I am older I feel I am getting closer to the point of not caring about that. But it is still something that will always be around, because people are judgemental, naturally. So my show will be based around how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us.

I have found myself having many ideas about how I can show this without it being “look at ME. This is how people see ME. This is how I see ME.” I want it to be open and an experience that the audience can use to look at themselves and each other.

Thoughts I have had include:

Starting the show raving with glow sticks to Beethoven’s 5th and inviting the audience to join in.

And ending the show crying and waving a lighter around to The O’Jays Sing a Happy Song.

I also want to use objects and pretend that they are what they are not: like sitting on a toilet/chair in front of an ironing board/table and eating baked beans/sweetcorn out of a bowl/top hat with a spoon/spatula.
